until end of June

This is a very uncertain and worrying time for everyone, so we just wanted to let you know our stance regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

At Newhaven Holiday Park we are continually monitoring the situation and following government advice regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19). As a responsible business, our priority is the safety and welfare of our guests, owners and staff. We have launched a Coronavirus policy to our staff and have displayed public information notices. These notices advise guests on how to protect themselves and others to ensure business continuity.

The  Government has not told us at this stage to close, and they are very busy focusing on the crisis in general. However, their advice regarding the Coronavirus pandemic is clear, we must act sensibly and avoid unnecessary travel and socially distance.

Your safety is paramount to us. Therefore, to assist with this and to help preserve the safety of you, your fellow holiday makers and our team on site, we have made the very difficult decision to close for holiday touring and camping customers until the end of June.

We are very much aware that you have very limited holiday options during these very challenging times and really do apologise for taking this step, but hope you understand.

Obviously, like many thousands of businesses throughout the UK, the financial burden on our family business will be huge, however that is nothing compared to the health crisis the world is currently facing and so business is secondary and your safety comes first.

We are in the process of contacting everyone who has a touring booking between now and the end of June, if you have not yet heard from us, please bear with us as this is a time-consuming process. Alternatively please feel free to get in touch.

In terms of the money that you have paid we would be really grateful if you could consider supporting us by moving your booking to a different date either later in the season or next year. If you would rather have a refund, I will arrange that for you as soon as possible.

Thank you for you support and stay well and safe.

The advice provided by Public Health England (PHE) are the following general cold and flu precautions:

  • Wash your hands with soap and water often – use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available. Handwashing is key to preventing the spread of the virus.
  • Try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean.

We are taking all of the necessary measures on the Park to ensure hygiene is of the utmost importance and to assist in delaying the spread, including:

  • We are wiping down all door handles and surfaces in the shower blocks and the shop with antibacterial disinfectant using disposable cloths. regularly throughout the day.
  • Our staff are regularly washing their hands, particularly after contact with customers.
  • We request Apple/GooglePay/contactless transactions where possible.
  • We are checking in with staff daily to ensure they are health and well, and have not been in contact with anyone who has travelled from the worst affected Covid-19 areas.
  • Regular handwashing with soap and water – please wash your hands more often than usual, for about 20 seconds, whenever:
  1. attending the shop/reception or playground
  2. blowing your nose, sneezing or coughing
  3. before and after eating
  4. after visiting or using lavatories / showers
  5. after using public transport
  6. after visiting local attractions

  • Try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
  • Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean.
