Hardwick Hall

Distance: 25 miles from the Park. National Trust.

Hardwick Hall is one of the earliest examples of the English interpretation of Renaissance architecture. Built between 1590 and 1597 for the formidable Bess of Hardwick, the interiors of the Hall are amongst the most exciting in England, in particular, the Great Chamber and the Long Gallery. It contains a magnificent collection of tapestry and period needlework.

There are many great walks through the 300 acres of gardens, woods and meadows.
